BRISTOL BILBAO 5 BROADWALK 3



Division Six leaders Bristol Bilbao took the first step towards a League and Cup double with a 5 3 win over Division Four side Broadwalk at a rain soaked Lodge Road in Yate.



In an fast and exciting game which was a credit to both sides Broadwalk took an eighth minute lead from a header from midfielder Kieren Brunsdon.



Bilbao came close to equalising after 16 minutes when a good header from Tom Gaves was pushed over the bar by the Broadwalk goalkeeper Mark Jones.



Bilbao equalised in the 20th minute with a goal from close range by Shaun Blake, they had a chance to go in front after 25 minutes but Mark Jones made a great save from a penalty taken by Craig Dimbicki.



Brunsdon scored his second goal from another header from a left wing free kick to put Broadwalk 2 1 up in the 35th minute.



In the 36th minute the pacy Cory Clark broke through one on one with Jones his shot hit the post but luckily the ball rebounded to Clark who made the score 2 2 at half time.

Bilbao were awarded a second penalty in the 55th minute for pushing which was converted by Nathan Stokes to make the score 3 2.



In a goalmouth scramble in 80 minutes the ball fell to captain Ryan Elsbury to made the score 4 2.



Broadwalk kept fighting hard to get back in the game and were rewarded when Captain Tom Parker made the score 4 3.



As the game entered added time Nick Joyce made it 5 3 to earn Bristol Bilbao a deserved victory in a very entertaining game.



June Bartlett widow of the late Len Bartlett presented the cup to the Bristol Bilbao captain Ryan Elsbury.
