The victorious Bristol Bilbao side who defeated Sneyd Park Reserves to lift the GFA Intermediate Cup
BRISTOL Bilbao put the heartbreak of losing last season's GFA Primary Cup final behind them and fought back from 2-1 down against Sneyd Park Reserves to win the Intermediate Cup in an entertaining game at Oaklands Park.
Ben Lewis's men put in a monumental performance to see off Sneyd and got off to a fine start when Nick Joyce curled a ball in that managed to sneak past everyone and find the back of the net.
However, Sneyd replied on the 30-minute mark with a goal from Connor Stapley after Matt Hewitt had delivered a fine cross. And they were in dreamland two minutes later when substitute Al Jones, who had just been introduced, smashed the ball in with his first touch.
But Bilbao replied immediately, with Joyce bagging his brace from a free-kick after Aaron Watts had been brought down on the edge of the area.
Bilbao's Joyce turned provider when Cory Clark made it 3-2 in the second half with a sliding effort, and substitute Craig Dembicki, who produced an influential second-half performance, saw the game off when he headed in Clark's pinpoint ball after 82 minutes.
Further Sneyd efforts from Andy Wills and Dave Willet went close, but Bilbao skipper Ryan Elsbury was marshalling the midfield well to break up play.
